This year marks the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicea. To celebrate and commemorate this event, GCPC is hosting a time of learning and fellowship led by Rev. Dr. Robbie Crouse, who will be teaching on the place and importance of confessions, traditions, and the past, and then honing in on the Nicene Creed as a case study, with application to the Christian life. About the Speaker
Dr. Crouse is Professor of Systematic Theology at Knox Theological Seminary in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His passion is connecting biblical interpretation with the historic legacy of Christian doctrine. The goal is to see the church renewed for its calling of worship and discipleship. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Crouse attended Hillsdale College for history and classics and Beeson Divinity School for ministerial training. At Wheaton College, he completed his PhD in Biblical and Theological Studies, with an emphasis in historical and systematic theology. He is an ordained minister of the gospel in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and has served in church ministry in a number of capacities, including as an interim pastor (in a sister CREC church). His interests in teaching and study are in the theology of the Protestant Reformation, the history and theology of worship and the sacraments, and the relationship between the Old and New Testaments. Dr. Crouse also serves as the Stated Clerk for the South Florida Presbytery of the PCA. He is married to Becky; they have three daughters and are expecting their fourth child this fall.
